The HMV Picture House in Edinburgh is set to welcome former Libertines frontman Peter Doherty on September 21st.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, August 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter Doherty will visit Edinburgh's HMV Picture House as part of his eight-date UK tour next month.
 
The songwriter, known for fronting The Libertines and Babyshambles, is due to perform in the Scottish capital on Wednesday September 21st.
 
Doherty will appear in Edinburgh as a solo artist, despite the recent reunion with his former Libertines bandmate Carl Barat.
 
The songwriting partners, whose fractious relationship led to the initial break-up of the group in 2004, put their differences aside to play at last year's Reading and Leeds festivals.
 
Barat also posted a picture of the pair together on his Twitter account earlier this month, but there are currently no confirmed plans for The Libertines to perform together once more.
 
However, one of two of the band's songs could feature in Doherty's solo gig, alongside tracks from Babyshambles and more recent material.
 
The 32-year-old released his first album as a solo artist, Grace/Wastelands, in March 2009. Produced by Stephen Street, the critically acclaimed LP features musical contributions from Blur guitarist Graham Coxon.
 
Tickets for Doherty's Edinburgh show are available online, priced at GBP18 plus booking fee.
