LateRooms.com - See Noises Off During a Lake District Stay
Noises Off by Michael Frayn will open at the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick on May 27th.
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, May 07, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Frayn's celebrated comedy Noises Off will be performed as part of the summer season at the Theatre by the Lake.
Audience members at the Keswick venue are set to enjoy a brand new production of the 1982 drama, which uses the concept of a play within a play to create a series of hilarious situations.
The award-winning work, which was adapted into a film by American director Peter Bogdanovich in 1992, goes behind the scenes of a touring theatre company as it performs a risque comedy called Nothing On.
Frayn was reportedly inspired to write the play as he watched a performance of his one-act farce Chinamen from the wings in 1970.
Directed by Stefan Escreet, Noises Off is scheduled to run at the Theatre by the Lake throughout the summer, with the opening performance due to take place on Friday May 27th.
Tickets are available to buy online, priced between GBP10 and GBP26. The theatre is also offering a summer season ticket offer, which provides access to six different productions for GBP75.
Other plays in the summer season include Hay Fever by Noel Coward and Joe Penhall's Dumb Show.
Theatre-goers planning to book Lake District accommodation will find a large selection of options at LateRooms.com, including the Sharrow Bay Hotel Lake District.
