MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, April 23, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mums are set to descend on the Gold Coast at the start of next month to push themselves and raise money for charity in the 2011 Mother's Day Classic fun run and walk.

The event first took place in 1998 and has contributed almost AU$8 million to numerous non-profit organisations since then.

It returns to the Gold Coast on May 8th, offering mothers the chance to tackle two races measuring four and eight kilometres in length.

The running challenges start at 07:45 and 08:00 local time, while the walks kick off at 08:10 and 08:45.

Both courses take in the Queensland resort's world-famous beachfronts and the Esplanade tourism district.

Registration costs AU$40 for adults and AU$25 for under-16s.

All participants will be automatically entered into a prize giveaway, with a large selection of gifts set to be handed over around the course throughout the day.

Non-runners are welcome to cheer on the entrants while soaking up the atmosphere and joining in with the numerous activities, including aerobics, free massages and performances from roving entertainers.
