Rossini's The Barber of Seville will arrive at the Torch Theatre for one night later this year.

PEMBROKESHIRE, WALES, April 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Torch Theatre in Milford Haven is due to stage a new production by the Swansea City Opera this summer.

Gioachino Rossini's celebrated comic opera The Barber of Seville will arrive at the Pembrokeshire venue on Wednesday June 1st, with tickets for the show now available.

First performed in 1816, the opera features a libretto by Cesare Sterbini and was based on a comedy by Pierre Beaumarchais.

It tells the story of Spanish nobleman Count Almaviva and his love for the beautiful Rosina, who has also attracted the attentions of the lecherous Doctor Bartolo.

Once meddling town barber Figaro becomes involved in Almaviva's quest to win her heart, the stage is set for much confusion and comedic mayhem.

According to a statement from the Swansea City Opera, the company's performance of Rossini's classic work is "full of theatrical wit and humour" and offers "a feast for the eyes and ears".

The Torch Theatre performance is due to begin at 19:30 BST and tickets are available online for GBP18.50.

Opera fans planning to enjoy the show can browse a diverse range of hotels in Tenby at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Fourcroft Hotel Tenby.
