Melbourne's Age Theatre is set to host next month's Other Film Festival.


MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, July 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Other Film Festival, an event which aims to raise awareness for people with disabilities via the silver screen, is coming to Melbourne next month.

Held at Melbourne Museum's Age Theatre, the spectacle takes place between August 25th and 29th 2010, with organisers promising accommodation Melbourne CBD customers that this year's event will be particularly adventurous.

A huge array of films will be shown throughout the occasion, while workshops, panel discussions and the first demonstration anywhere in the world of a new piece of technology - a prosthetic eye - are also planned.

Some of the movies to be shown throughout the event are Football Father - which will play on the opening night at 20:30 local time - and Zig Zag Love, which gets an airing during the Funny/Peculiar section.

"The festival offers a fully accessible program of authentic and compelling films that explore the diversity of disability, including mental illness and deafness," the organisers explained, adding that the event will showcase cinema at its most raw, revealing and risky.
