COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND, July 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Midlands History Festival could be just the ticket for travellers heading to a Cotswold hotel this summer.

With "demonstrations, drills and skirmishes" confirmed to take place, this unusual occasion looks set to be unforgettable and should offer something for all the family, reports Cotswold.info.

The organisers have suggested that the event - which will see hundreds of re-enactors gather to stage shows from various periods in history - could be one of the biggest of its kind in the UK.

As well as the display of combat situations from a diverse range of eras, including the Ancient Greeks and World War One, there will be a real ale bar and a historic market.

Some of the societies that have already signed up for the festival include Irish Vikings, the Spartan Society, British Plate Armour Society, Gods Company of Tabor and Knights of Skirbeck.

It takes place on August 7th and 8th at the Stratford Armouries, with the doors opening from 11:00 to 17:30 BST on the Saturday and 11:00 to 17:00 on the Sunday.

Tickets cost GBP10, although children under 15 can get in for GBP5 and a family pass for two adults and two children can be purchased for GBP25.

The event is being staged by the European Re-enactment Agency, with the help of more than 44 different societies around the UK.
