Held in the popular coastal resort each April, the event is a week-long celebration involving music, dancing and colourful parades in the streets.

The festival was established to promote tourism in Pattaya, which is now one of the most famous destinations in the country.

Other nearby attractions include the Sanctuary of Truth, a large wooden building resembling a temple that is being built by the eccentric Thai millionaire Lek Viriyaphant.
